Operation Happiness! Day 1

There comes a time in our life when we have to stop and look at the life we are leading. Take a look at the friends we are keeping, the effect we have on other people and even mood of strangers when we are around. Life tends to have its way of making us hard, crusty, bitter people. We become desensitized to the feelings of others, and think that only our own ambitions, our own feelings, and our own dreams and hopes are what matters in the world. Somewhere along our journey in life, we took a wrong turn to Saintsville and have begun to self-martyr ourselves. We look in the mirror and see that our problems are like no other and are bigger than those around us. We feel that our pains and hurts are the fault of being the victim to some poor unsuspecting soul. We have let the world turn us into Stone Saints. Ignorant of the needs of others, blind to the pain caused by our actions and stupid enough to believe that other people are to blame for how we feel, or how our life is going.

Well, I have begun a movement that starts with me called Operation Happiness or Operation Pursuit of Happiness. There is a quote by C P Snow that says, “The pursuit of Happiness is a ridiculous phrase, for if you pursue happiness you will not find it.” Well I am going to prove Mr. Snow wrong. See, the way I see it is, happiness is a choice. If you choose to be happy everyday, and if you choose to take the higher road, if you choose to find joy in each and every second in life, in order to pursue happiness, then you will find yourself one very happy person.

Pursing happiness is a life choice, a tough choice, and most definitely a life altering choice. It is so simple to be angry, to yell, to fight, to backstab, to give the finger to the guy who cut you off, to tell the waitress she’s being a b&@#h. However, if we take a few seconds to realize life is not meant to be lived in a self-righteous state of mind or a self-pitying state of mind, then we might consider the day someone is having, the feelings that might get hurt by what we say, and even the time and energy we waste on being anything but Happy! I am far from perfect, and I have more than my share of unhappy days, but today I am choosing to chip away the stone, and begin my journey to a happy lifestyle. Operation Happiness here I come!

Ask yourself, have you become a Stone Saint? Are you willing to make your life, this life, the life of others a happier place to be? If so join me! J

All it takes is a Smile to brighten the day of the saddest soul.

So smile and be happy my friends! Smile and Be Happy!
